How to Report a Calculation Bug
No software is perfect and StockMarketEye is no different. If you think you've found a bug in the way StockMarketEye computes something, we'd like to hear about it.
But first, if you haven't already gone through the information about data inconsistencies on the following page, please do that now:
Correcting Inconsistencies in your Portfolio
Afterwards, when you believe that you've found an issue with one of the calculations done by StockMarketEye, here's how you can let us know about it.
Please follow the steps below to provide us with the necessary background information. This will help us to verify and fix the issue as quickly as possible.
- In your StockMarketEye, create a new, separate test portfolio.
- Add transactions to this test portfolio so that it also exhibits the issue you've seen elsewhere in StockMarketEye. You should use the fewest number of securities possible in this test portfolio to reproduce the issue - ideally only 1 security and its related transactions (buy, sell, dividends, etc).
- Export the transactions from this test portfolio to a CSV file. Be sure to use the "Export columns necessary for re-import into StockMarketEye" export option.
- Send us the following information:
- The CSV file of transactions you exported in #3 above.
- Your StockMarketEye log files.
- Screenshots of your StockMarketEye window that show the issue you're seeing.
Armed with these details, we'll be able to quickly reproduce, verify and ultimately fix the issue you're seeing.
