MSN Ticker Symbols Are Not Loading Quotes

In some circumstances, ticker symbols for which quotes are retrieved from MSN Money can become disconnected from the data provider. If this happens to some of your ticker symbols, you can reconnect the symbols with the following steps:

1. Open the details window of the portfolio holding or watchlist item.

2. In the Details window, click on the small edit button on the right-hand side of the Ticker Symbol field. This allows you to edit the ticker symbol.

3. In the Ticker Symbol field click on the "X" on the right-hand side of the field.

4. Search using the name of the security. When you see the security again in the search results list, click on it.

5. Click the "Update" button in the details window to accept the change.

6. The quotes for this particular ticker symbol should load again.

Note: We recommend that you use Yahoo Finance ticker symbols (i.e. the ones with the purple Y logo), rather than MSN Ticker symbols (i.e. the ones with the green butterfly logo). Unless Yahoo does not cover the particular security you are interested in or Yahoo's coverage is incomplete, you will generally get better data using Yahoo Finance ticker symbols.
